Remembering those who have paid the ultimate price down through the years and those who are keeping watch at this very moment! I am afraid we take our freedom for granted. I am both grateful and thankful for the freedom we have in America. Let's remember to pray for our armed forces. I will be preaching and teaching a Sunday School class tomorrow morning at Indian Prairie Baptist church. I would appreciate your prayers! I desire God's unction and power upon the preaching and teaching. I don't want some stale tradition I want to see God move powerfully. Holy Ghost Power! Thanks for visiting and thanks for praying, Bro. Tracy Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Colossians 3:16-17 We need to fill our spiritual plate up from our two verses. Our lives will reflect that which we fix our hearts and minds upon. When we purpose to be filled with the Holy Spirit and when we purpose to to follow after and feed upon the holy Scriptures our lives will be enriched and in turn the lives of the reconciled in Christ Jesus whom we come in contact with will be enriched as well. To God be the Glory!! It is a family thing! We need to be a building block in the lives of the redeemed and not a stumbling block. We too often act like we are in competition with our brothers and sisters in Christ. It is past time to get out of our spiritual diapers and act like we have some sense in Christ Jesus. Let's order seconds and thirds from our menu that is from the Word of the Living God! "O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is" Psalm 63:1 If we want to know real living and if we want to have a life that truly counts then we would do well to approach each day in such a fashion as David from our verse. Consider these words: Seek, thirsteth and longeth. That is faith put into action. That is desire put into motion. We don't need cold and complacent Christians we need believer's who cultivate a fire in their very being for their love and commitment for the Lord. We need the redeemed to rise up beyond the thirty-two degree mark spiritually speaking. We must make a choice. I have some requests I would like to ask you to pray for:
1. My friend Virgil Bland who has cancer is not doing well. Please pray for him and his wife Bonnie. 2. Pastor Jimmy Banks at Lighthouse Baptist in Columbus, MS requested prayer for a seventy-four year old man who acknowledged that he wasn't saved. Let's pray for his salvation. 3. Bro. Cody Williams asked for prayer for his pastor's daughter Cherrie Stewart who found out today that she has cancer. Let's pray for her. 4. My good friend Pastor Dave Vorhees is recovering from surgery and could use prayer for healing. 5. Bro. Cody Williams has requested prayer for his Grandma Dora Williams who has a health issue. Thanks for praying, Bro. Tracy For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 I am thoroughly convinced the reason for so many long faced and defeated Christians is that they don't partake in one of the most simplest and yet powerful things- READING THEIR BIBLE! Peace seems to be a mystery to so many who are born again. Power in their day to day lives is sparingly a way of life. Joy is something they notice in others, but it is a place they rarely know. Hope seems to be something that others have, but it is a stranger to their lives. The Bible says, "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple" (Psalm 119:130.) The word of God must enter in before it can minister to us! God's word reveals who we are now in Christ Jesus and it brings to light the blessed benefits we have in and through our Saviour. It teaches us what we have in the here and now and what awaits us in the sweet bye and bye. Peace, Power, Joy and Hope are real today and heaven is a place we will one day call our home. That's a good place for an AMEN!!! From time to time I am going to post "The Bible Says" as a reminder to the redeemed what God's Word teaches and tells us. I pray it will bring glory to God and bless many. I want you to meditate on the first four Holy Spirit led words that the Apostle Paul penned in our verses, "For I am persuaded." If you aren't, ask yourself, why? You need to get to the point that you are persuaded because if you are born again these words are shouting Words. The words from our verses are powerful Words! The Words are heaven sent Words! Within these words the redeemed find Peace, Power, Joy and Hope! Praise God, The Bible Says!! Friend I want you to be encouraged and excited not down trodden and discouraged. Our help and our hope is in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Thanks for visiting and thanks for praying, Bro. Tracy After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. John 19:28-30 From such violence came a resounding victory! The greatest victory ever in the history of the world took place on a cross upon a hill. Death was defeated! The Devil was done in, the power of sin was sunk and the debt of sin was dealt with! Jesus Christ is our victor! The price has been paid! Praise God! You cannot make a payment on what Christ has paid in full. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4 I am thoroughly convinced the reason for so many long faced and defeated Christians is that they don't partake in one of the most simplest and yet powerful things- READING THEIR BIBLE! I pray that our verses today opens your eyes and speaks to your heart as the Spirit of truth illuminates a wonderful and power packed truth. Thanks for visiting and thanks for praying, Bro. Tracy Revival is often the desire and discussion of many, but the prayer and plea of few. We need a stirring and a shaking. We need to rise up out of our cold, complacent and compromising positions and take a look at ourselves. We have become so amused by the world and its offerings that we have lost our way. Many are committed to anything and everything, but the Saviour of their soul. Many are so full of the world's philosophies and thoughts that the word of God is just one of many dishes they partake from in the shaping and forming of their thoughts and beliefs. Many have buried the Holy Spirit under an avalanche of the world's filth and fun to the extent that He can't get their attention. They have quenched the mighty power of God under a flood of worldliness and ungodliness. Many Christians are attempting a balancing act that will never ever balance out. You cannot run with the world and know and have the blessings of God's power, peace and provision. Will we cry out to God and ask for His for forgiveness? Will we cry out to God and ask Him to do a work in our hearts? Will we cry out to God and ask Him to revive us again? We need a burden! We need a burden to sweep over each of us to hunger and to thirst for the living God more so than a hunger and a thirst for a dying and temporary world that will one day pass away. We need a: 1. Burden- That is crushing 2. Burning- That is continual 3. Brokenness- That is contagious |
