"Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers" Ephesians 1:15-16
E.M. Bounds wrote, “Our praying, however, needs to be pressed and pursued with energy that never tires, a persistency which will not be denied, and a courage which never fails.”

Pray For Our Nations Leaders!
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” I Timothy 2:1-2
We must pray for those in our country who are in leadership and authority. This includes local, state and federal officials. When Paul, led by the Holy Spirit, wrote these words, Nero was in power. Nero was a ruthless, vile, violent and ungodly man who had Christians brutally murdered and massacred. Our verses were the Word of God in that time and they are still the Word of God today. We need to come down on our knees in a humble and meek spirit. We need to confess our sins to God and call out and cry out in intercession on the behalf of those in authority and on behalf of the United States of America.

Let's Pray
Elijah was a man of prayer. The scripture teaches us he was just that- a man (see James 5:17-18.) Paul was a man whose every breath seemed to be drawn to pray. Hannah was a woman of prayer whose prayers were not born on the surface, but arose from deep down in the depths. The Lord Jesus Christ prayed powerfully and purposely in the garden of Gethsemane. He was sorrowful and very heavy and upon His face was His position. It was a time of prayer before a season of suffering (see Matthew 26:36-39.) They all were people of prayer.
One can know true purpose when the set themselves to being a man or woman of prayer. A life of prayer will be a life of love fueled with the desire to come up close to the Lord in the prayer closet while straining and contending on the behalf of others. A life of prayer will be a life of labor that brings riches beyond that of monetary gain and earthly fortune. The ground will be fertile beneath you from your tears and sweat. The fragrance from such a life will be as the sweet smell of honeysuckle rising through the air on a summer morning. A life of prayer will be filled with passion and substance. Such a life will not be lived out in the presence of man, but in the secret place before the Almighty. Ones steps will be bold in Christ Jesus for He made the way on Calvary’s dark hill that enables us to come. The barrier was broken through His precious blood and the violent victory that He won on the cross. The veil was rent and so the way was made that the redeemed can come boldly to God in prayer.
Oh that we would be people of prayer!
