Dream Big in Christ Jesus in 2020

On this date 13 year ago at my home church at the time Lifeway Baptist we had popcorn preaching for the preacher boys in the evening service. My pastor asked me to preach- To state the obvious I was the oldest preacher boy at 40!! I am so grateful to the many who have invested in me. From that evening so long ago by the grace of God the Lord has allowed me to preach in Kentucky, Maine, Florida, West Virginia, Mississippi, Michigan, Maryland (gave my testimony at Woodlawn Baptist) and throughout my home state of Indiana. We have made many friends along the way and have seen the Lord move mightily as His word is preached. What a Saviour!!

The Lord branded these words upon my heart before all of this got started and they still burn today, "And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth." (Mark 1:38)

Let's dream BIG in Christ Jesus in 2020! Not everyone is called to preach, but Almighty God has the best plan for each of our lives.

The Fire Within

It’s been said, “The men who move the world are the ones who do not let the world move them.”  What we need are men, women, teens and young Christians who do not allow the world to dictate their choices and decisions.  We don't have to be consumers of the sin and ungodliness that the world and the devil is peddling and continually trying to sell and shove down our throats.  We need more Christians whose words and lives reflect the words of David in Psalm 63:8, “My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.” We need more Christians
who have a love for the Lord and a desire to follow His word no matter what the circumstance, situation or scenario might be. We need Holy Ghost filled believers whose gratitude for their salvation is fueled by the fact that they were once one breathe and one heartbeat away from hell, but are now heaven born and heaven bound.  Oh the life, power, strength, joy and glorious peace that is ours in Christ Jesus.  I believe that if we took the time to look back to where we once stood and then come full circle to where we stand in Christ Jesus being reconciled and redeemed that the many cold and indifferent hearts towards God would be replaced by hearts on fire for the Lord, and those hearts would burn like a three alarm blaze. I believe that if we would set aside the time to meditate upon the mercy and grace of God that our love for God would be as spiritual dynamite within our very being. Each individual Christian would be engulfed with a revival fire that was neither man-made nor derived from mere emotion. As clichéd as as it sounds we need and should have more Christians on fire for the Lord.  Sadly that does not seem to be the case at this present time in history.  Many have become loose and lackadaisical in their relationship and thus their commitment to the Lord.

I would like to present to you some questions and only ask that you be
completely honest and transparent not only with yourself, but more importantly with
Almighty God. It is past time that we get serious and sincere when it comes to our relationship
with our Lord.  Before we get to the questions I would like for you to consider this prayer,
“Search me O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any
wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Psalm 139:23-24.)
                                             The Questions
1. If your spiritual temperature were to be taken what would the thermometer read?
2. Has your Love for the Lord increased or decreased since you were saved?
3. Has your time in God’s word been replaced with other things?
4. Has your prayer time become drive-thru in its nature?
5. If the trumpet were to sound what condition would the Lord Jesus find your heart and
     life in?

I want God’s people to be encouraged, strengthened and at the same time challenged in
a way that will draw them closer to the Lord.

The Emptiness of a Christ-Less Christmas

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:8-11

Before I was saved I never gave any thought to why Christmas was celebrated.  I bought into the thought and philosophy that this time of the year was nothing more than gift giving and tree trimming.  It was a season when many decorated their homes and folks were seemingly friendlier while on their best behavior.  It was magical and memorable for a moment.  After all was said and done, I was often filled with an emptiness.  A Christ-less Christmas will be filled with emptiness. Man will go to great extremes in his attempt to bring meaning to life.

Apart from Christ there is no meaning to life. This time of the year  the void is often filled with alcohol, drugs and pleasure.  We cannot forget food, vacations and material items. The list can go on and on. These things are temporary solutions for a much deeper problem and can be likened to putting a band aid on a compound fracture (Spiritually speaking).  Memories will eventually fade and the bulbs in the lights will burn out. Now- don’t misunderstand me, memories are great decorations are fine and beautiful, but it is Christ that brings true meaning to our life and to Christmas. My friend, “A Saviour which is Christ the Lord” is the greatest gift ever given to man.  The Bible says, “He that hath the Son hath life: and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life” (I John 5:12). Sin has brought separation, but through Christ we can have and know regeneration, redemption and reconciliation.

My friend, are you saved? If not go to our “Decision and Destiny” page and read what God’s Word says about your need to be saved and how God wants you to be saved.

Three Places of Importance

12/20/2019

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16-17

We have three places and three moments recorded in the Bible that forever changed history. Meditate on them as you start your day and remember them as you go about your day. You will not be able stop yourself from praising the Lord for His love and provision. You will not be able to stop yourself from giving God glory for His grace and mercy.

1. A Saviour was Sent
Bethlehem- Luke 2:11 “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” It began in Bethlehem that God in the form of man born of a virgin had left the perfection and pureness of heaven and journeyed to earth to make known the good news of the Saviour and His glorious salvation.

2. A Season of Suffering.
Gethsemane- Jesus would have a time of prayer before a season of suffering. Matthew 26:36 describes the scene, “Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.” Three times in Matthews account the Lord Jesus went off by Himself in the garden to pray. The Lord Jesus knew He would have to suffer, bleed and die on the cross. The heaviness of such a time could never be known by any of us. How thankful we all should be for the obedience of Jesus in such a time.

3. A Sufficient Sacrifice.
Calvary- The greatest victory of all time was won on the cross on that bloody hill. From tragedy came triumph- From violence came victory. The death of Christ was sufficient in paying the debt of mankind for the price we all owe for our sins. The sacrifice was sufficient and the words of Christ from the cross should ring in our hearts each and every day as a glorious reminder of what He has done for us, “It is finished.”

The Lord has lit a fire in me and my wife.  Prayer and The Pen Ministry. A concentrated time of prayer for the men of God and a card of encouragement to their wives. The plan is to use social media as a way to encourage folks to pray for God's men. We currently have a mailing list of over 50.
My wife will be making the cards. 2020 will be the official start. We are excited about this outreach from A Call to the World Ministries. We are wanting God to be glorified and for many to be encouraged.

On Monday morning, September 29th, the Lord placed this on my heart-
The Prayer- A Call and Cry to God interceding on the behalf of the men.
Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. Colossians 4:12
The Pen- A card sent to the ladies to Encourage and Edify.

Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. Proverbs 16:24

We look forward to the Lord doing a Mighty work in 2020!

In Christ,
Bro. Tracy Killinger

The Whosoever

“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29

I recently read, “At a service conducted in London by Dr. G. Campbell Morgan, a hardened criminal came forward to the altar seeking salvation.  Dr. Morgan knelt beside him and pointed him to Jesus the Lamb of God who could cleanse him from all his sins, and he who had been a great sinner believed and was converted.

Then Dr. Morgan saw the Mayor of the city, a man of high morals and greatly respected, kneeling at the same altar, and to him, as to the criminal, he pointed out the Lamb of God who alone could take away sins.  In humble self-surrender, the Mayor, too, accepted Jesus as his Saviour.  A short time before this, the Mayor had sentenced the criminal to imprisonment; and there at the altar, the two shook hands while tears of joy ran down their cheeks.”

Sometimes we are quick to forget the wonderful truth of the “whosoever” in the Bible.  We like to compare ourselves to those around us.  We say, “I was lost but not near as lost as that man or woman or that boy or girl.”  The Bible says, “As it is written, THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO NOT ONE: THERE IS NONE THAT UNDERSTANDETH, THERE IS NONE THAT SEEKETH AFTER GOD. THEY ARE ALL GONE OUT OF THE WAY, THEY ARE TOGETHER BECOME UNPROVITABLE; THERE IS NONE THAT DOETH GOOD, NO, NOT, ONE” (Romans 3:10-12).  A powerful reminder of where the redeemed in Christ Jesus once stood.
The way has been made for the saving of one’s soul, but the lost sinner must come to Christ. God the Father draws the lost while the Word of God and the Holy Spirit of God work in tandem to convict the lost of their sin (what a picture of the trinity!)  The price has been paid by Jesus Christ for whosoever to come. Thru Christ their debt of sin can be cleansed, cleaned and wiped away.  For the banker or the brawler, God has provided, for the highly esteemed and the not so esteemed, God has provided.  God has provided- “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16.)  God's Word brings forth a wonderful invitation, "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool" (Isaiah 1:18.)

Our time is short and our days are numbered and so we move forward by faith while nurturing a burden and brokenness for the lost. O let us be about prayer. O let us be filled with the Holy Spirit. O let us continue with a fire and fervency in our service for the Living God! O that we would take serious that which was serious enough that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

Let's continue to pray for the “whosoever.”  Let’s continue to go to the “whosoever.” Never forget we were at one time a part of the whosoever, thank God for that!

Come Up Close

Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. Psalm 5:1-3

My friend these words have such depth to them- David is not playing games. These words are not simply from the heart they have made their way up from deep down within. My prayer for myself and whoever else may read this is that we would find ourselves at such a place right now! No gimmicks, no games and no playing religion. Oh, to be a living sacrifice for the Lord to do with as He would and to give ourselves over to His will willingly. To come to such a place of desire for God should be the burning ambition of us all. Take a moment and read the verses slowly and deliberately again and again. Allow each word to have its moment. Make the verses your own prayer.

David has spread himself out before the One True God. He seems to be completely and utterly emptied of self. David has not come lightly- He is all in. He is not looking around he is looking up. He doesn’t appear to desire anything or anyone more than his Lord, his King and his God and they are all one in the same.

Come up close to the Lord, and anticipate Him meeting with you.
