1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 1:1-3 | |

Would you pray for the missionaries who are on the fields all over the world? Many have been called to faraway lands with a burden to see souls saved and lives changed as they preach, proclaim and present the one true Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul, led by the Holy Spirit wrote in I Corinthians 15:3-4 the very thing which these godly missionaries are proclaiming, "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again on the third day according to the scriptures." That is the Gospel truth according to the scriptures!
LET’S PRAY FOR: I. Protection- From the evil one. The Devil despises the Gospel reaching areas where it has not been heard. He looks to divide and destroy and to stop the Gospel. The evil one will use any form of discouragement that he can to disrupt the work that these precious missionaries who while in the trenches want to accomplish in Christ Jesus. Pray for their protection! II. Power- To preach the Good News and to see souls saved; to see strongholds broken and lives changed. Power, Power, Power! Pray that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit. Grit and determination will not win the day. They need to be strong in the Lord and the Power of His Might. Pray for Holy Spirit Power and Unction! III. Provision- For all that is needed to do what God has called them to do. The mission field is not a picnic it is a battle ground. Souls are in the balance. We need to pray feverishly and fervently that God will provide all that is needed and if the Lord lays it on our hearts we need to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's prompting and give if we learn of a need. Pray for Provision! These dear servants of Christ need our prayers. Let's roll up our sleeves and get down to business. And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sin; Wherein time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh and of the mind: and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. Ephesians 2:1-3 Before I was saved I was a musician. I started playing the guitar at the age of fifteen. To say that I practiced and had an interest in becoming the best that I could would be the understatement of all understatements. As time went by I began to write and later record my music as a solo artist. Eventually I started a band named Blues Story. We described our music as high energy blues. I sang and was the guitar player of the band. We played at bars, parties and pubs in and around the area where we lived as well as southern Indiana. The guitar was my idol. I ate, slept and drank playing the guitar. I often get the question, “Are you still playing the guitar?” I still play, but not the way that many remember. You see, after I was saved God began to do a work in me. Praise the Lord! The Holy Spirit soon was dealing with me about what I was listening to and the style of music that I wrote and played. I remember the thought bubbling up in my heart that the music that was such a big part of my life was steeped in the philosophies of a life without God and promoted sin and sadness. I did not mourn the turning away from what once was the biggest part of my life. How could one ever mourn the loss of that which is contrary to God’s Word and way? The darkness and sensuality of such lyrics no longer had a place in my life. The rhythms and music fed my flesh. The devil is a liar and flesh cannot be trusted. As I go around preaching I often take my guitar and sing a special before I preach. O the power that is within those old hymns! What a blessing! I praise the Lord for saving my soul! I am truly, truly alive. I recall those nights when I was playing out and the notes just flowed. I have no desire to go back in time even on the best night when I was playing at my best- I shudder at the thought of being dead in my trespasses and sins. What hope is there in hell? Zero! I do not have the testimony of many who grew up in church and were saved at a young age. Thirty-six is relatively old when it comes to salvation. This I know, “Amazing grace! how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now I’m found was blind but now I see.” Glory to God! Thanks for visiting and thanks for praying, Bro. Tracy 5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. 7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. 8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. Psalm 63:5-8 Charles Spurgeon once wrote these words in reference to the word of God, “It is God’s voice, not man’s; the words are God’s: the words of the Eternal, the Invisible, the Almighty, the Jehovah of ages. The Bible is God’s Bible: and when I see it, I seem to hear a voice springing up from it, I am the book of God. Man read me. I am God’s writing. Study my page, for I was penned by God. Love me, for He is my Author, and you will see Him visible and manifest everywhere.” That is a mouth full that speaks so wonderfully in regard to the Word of God.
God's Word is our guide and a solid foundation. A foundation is only as strong as the materials that it consists of. With God’s word as your foundation, you will surely stand strong and you will be guided in a glorious and victorious way. I would like to share some wonderful slabs of a heavenly foundation: 11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee 24 Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counselors. 34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart. 35 Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. 73 Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments. 93 I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me. 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. 129 Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them. 130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. 151 Thou art near, O Lord; and all thy commandments are truth. 162 I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil. Psalm 119:11,24,34,35,73,93,105,129,130,151,162 “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, it is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” John 19:30
If you are a purchased possession of the Lord Jesus Christ you have a heavenly portfolio. Some have financial portfolio that includes all their assets, properties, stocks, bonds etc. In Christ Jesus we have a heavenly portfolio. I have drawn from just a few of your spiritual assets that are yours in Christ Jesus. I. Saved- “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement” (Romans 5:9-11.) I want us to drink deep and drink long from these verses. These are amen and hallelujah Words. II. Secure- “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one” (John 10:27-30.) These verses shout out loud of the security that the born again have in Christ Jesus. When God says, “Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” He says what He means and He means what He says! III. Settled- “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1.) The distance between man and God is no more and with the reconciliation comes peace. The difference between God and each individual who comes by faith is settled through the Lord Jesus Christ and His shed blood. IV. Sealed-“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with the holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory” (Ephesians 1:13-14.) The born again have heaven’s seal of approval. The down payment of the purchased possession is the Holy Spirit. No one can break the King of king’s seal! I have been blessed and encouraged by the enthusiasm and response to the prayer requests I have posted on the blog page of the website. I can truly say I have seen God move mightily and this tells me that many have been praying- Glory to God!
As a somewhat new believer God put the importance of prayer on my heart and it is a fire that is still burning white hot today. Now, some may wonder, why a preacher from Indiana is asking for prayer for meetings, church plants, Pastors, Preachers, Evangelist as well as Missionaries from various parts of the U.S. as well as from other countries? Think of the impact that can be made to the Glory of God and for the good of many when the saints are coming down to lift others up! My friend, that should make us all excited to be prayer warriors. Imagine the blessing we can be to these folks when they learn that their names and the work God has called them to do is being prayed for by saints they may have never met. God has blessed me with many new IFB pastor friends through social media- As God leads me I am going to ask these men from time to time how “WE” can be praying for them. There will be revival meetings, lost souls, church members, missionaries, conferences, new church plants and vacation Bible schools we can pray for. The possibilities are endless. Listen- The size of the congregation does not matter! Let’s anticipate God doing a mighty work! Let’s pray while believing and believe while praying! Let’s desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit! Let’s be a clean vessel that God can use! If we are willing He is able! Let’s desire to see revival in our churches, in our county, in our home states, in our home town and in our country and in each one of us! I will still be posting blogs that I pray will encourage, comfort, challenge, and convict and fire you up to have a deeper relationship with the Lord. I thank you for the many kind words and give God all the praise and glory for it all. Thanks for visiting and thanks for praying, Bro. Tracy Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:17
