Clay In The Masters Hands

PictureAllow God to shape you and prepare you for the work He has for you.
Ones earthly standing has no influence on the effectiveness of ones heavenly calling.  Consider those who God Almighty called and sent in the early church.  A handful of fishermen and a tax collector turned the world upside down and this world has never been the same since. Those chosen men were not known for their intellect or eloquence, but these men who were equipped and sent by God, brought the treasure of saving knowledge to the world. Those men who by the worlds standards were of a low rank became preachers of the Gospel.  They spoke in plain terms and delivered the soul saving truth to many. It was a plain spoken message but don't miss this- that message was brought in and through the power of God.  That same power is available to all Christians today.

We need not worry or wonder about the task at hand, because our God is more than able to provide all that is needed to do the work He has prepared for us to do. The Bible says, "For we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10).  We only need to read our Bibles to learn how God worked through the lives of those who were from a lowly background.  God did a powerful work through them in spite of their position and lack of prominence.  In the book of Esther we read about a man by the name of Mordecai who would not bend, bow or stay silent. Read about Gideon who was greeted by the angel of the Lord with these words, "The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour" (Judges 6:12.) The enemy was great but Almighty God was in Gideon's corner. You will be encouraged as your faith fuse will be lit by the true accounts given, within the Word of God. I want to challenge you to get into your Bible and study the lives of the Old Testament saints.

Don't look to replicate the lives of those that you read and learn about within the pages of the Bible.  Allow God to provide, and empower you to do what His will is for your life and the particular time that He has you here. Have a desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Your life is not an accident it is an opportunity for the God of Heaven to do an incredible work through you.

Paul The Preacher

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.  For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:1-5

Paul's preaching was not a slick presentation of speech making nor was it brought in the mind set of a prestigious Apostle who reeked of self importance while putting off the odor of arrogance.  Can you picture Paul's hands being weather beaten and worn from the toil of tent making? One can picture in their mind Paul's back being covered in scars, thus a pat on the back could have been a painful ordeal. Paul was not super man- he was a man.  He was God's man used for a specific purpose at a specific time having being sent to specific people. I believe Paul's greatest desire when it came to every facet of his preaching is summed up in our verses. God help us that we would have the same burning desire in the depths of our very being.

Thirsting

“O God, thou art my God: early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is”

Psalm 63:1

I want to challenge you.  I want you to be honest with yourself.  Does our verse reflect your desire for God?  David, the author of this Psalm, has been one who I have studied quite often in my nearly  years as a Christian.  His fire for the Lord challenges me.  David was not a mere Sunday morning church goer.  He was sold out to his Lord God seven days a week.  Circumstances did not dictate his desire for the Lord.

Revival in each individual believer will be the direct affect of the choices each individual believer makes in their lives.  Our choice to have more and more of God will never light the torch of revival in our hearts if we are simply doing it to gain the approval of a spouse, a friend or to impress ones parents or Pastor.  It must be authentic and real for it to truly have an affect in our lives and bless the lives of those around us.

What is it that sits on the throne of your heart and life at this very moment?  What is it that consumes and keeps you from a deep, rich and abiding relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ?  Only you can answer these questions and I pray that you would seek the Lords face in a mighty way and allow the Holy Spirit to do a revealing work in your heart this very day or moment.  I pray that it would be our desire to echo the words of David, “My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee.”

An Evening Thought

Let the words of my mouth and meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy eyes. O Lord, my strength and redeemer.

Psalm 19:14

Let's take time tonight to really meditate and consider the glorious and powerful Words from our text. What if we desired to live in a way that would bring glory to God from the inside out? I am certainly not speaking of an outward showing. I am not inviting you to live a life of dry and lifeless religion. I believe we would walk in victory while being a difference maker in the lives of those around us if we took time to consider our short verse each and every day. The psalmist has a want and a desire to live life in such a manner that will please the Lord. Too many never consider the thought of bringing glory to God they are more concerned about their own good.  O that we would consider the Living God before our own good and gain. When we purpose to be bring glory to God He is more than able to care for us.

Glory To The Lamb!!

“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, it is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”

John 19:30

Do those who are born again really grasp the significance of these powerful and precious three words, “It is finished” I am afraid that we do not. I am convinced that if the born again were to come to the knowledge and understanding of their position in Christ that revival within the heart of each and every believer would be a reality. We too often life on the outskirts of the victory that is ours in Christ.  We don’t appear to have any joy, any hope or any noticeable difference between us and those who are not saved.  We live like paupers (Spiritually speaking) instead of like children of the Most High God.

I want us to consider four S’s of “It is finished.”  Scripture will be our foundation and the Holy Spirit will be our guide and teacher.

 I. Saved- “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement” (Romans 5:9-11.)  I want us to drink deep and drink long from these verses. These are amen and halleluiah Words.

II. Secure- “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one” (John 10:27-30.) These verses shout out loud of the security that the born again have in Christ Jesus.  When God says, “Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” He says what He means and He means what He says!

III. Settled- “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1.) The distance between man and God is no more and with the reconciliation comes peace. The difference between God and each individual who comes by faith is settled through the Lord Jesus Christ and His shed blood.

IV. Sealed-“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with the holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory” (Ephesians 1:13-14.) The born again have heaven’s seal of approval.  The down payment of the purchased possession is the Holy Spirit.  No one can break the King of king’s seal!

Solid Steps On Solid Ground

Let’s put two verses together and allow them to bring a true sense of stability to our day:

“Wisdom is the principle thing therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7

“For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.” Proverbs 6:23

God’s commandments are the ways, paths and directions to man from the Heavenly Father.  The all-knowing God knows what is best for us.  Why do we rebel time and time again when we have seen over and over that God’s ways are the best ways?   Let’s be quick to repent if we have sinned with our straying away from God and His precepts and commandments.  God’s lamp and light is awaiting you now.  Your steps will be solid.

A Call To The World Ministries
Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.

Proverbs 8:4

It was two years ago on this date that I stared a twitter account.  It has been a true blessing.  I have met many new friends.  I believe that social media can be used in a way that will bring glory to God while sharing the Gospel and being an encouragement to many.  The devil wants to use the internet for his dirty deeds but, it does not have to be that way.

God has used the twitter account to introduce "A Call to the World Ministries" to many and I praise Him for that.  The website is not mine it is the Lords.  I have heard from people literally from all around the world.  Glory to God!  I am a nobody trusting the Lord with the totality of my life. We have seen many prayers answered!  It has truly been something to see. I want nothing more than for the lost to be saved and the saints to be edified, encouraged, comforted and at times confronted and convicted.

Thanks for visiting and thanks for praying!

The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.  Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.
Psalm 145:15-16

Psalm 136:25 speaks of God’s mercy, “Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever.”   I am convinced that the word that is most often overlooked in the Bible is the word “all.”   You may be saying to yourself, “Surely God doesn’t care for the lost.”   Yes indeed He does.   Before I was saved, I remember a time of struggle when money was tight and the refrigerator had more on top of it than it possibly had inside of it.  My place of employment took us out for a meal and when the meal was finished there was a bounty of leftovers.  The owners had the food boxed up and gave it to me.  The Lord gave me my meat “in due season!”   I could give countless other testimonies of God providing for me as a lost man as well as a child of His (I’m sure you could do the same).  Do we take the time to praise God for the meals that we have?   I am not speaking of a habit, but genuine, grateful praise for the provision that God has provided.   Psalm 145 is titled “David’s Psalm of praise” and so this we should learn from the man after God’s own heart.

The animals are not forgotten.  Our verses teach us that God, “Satisfiest the desire of every living thing.”  We are reminded of Matthew 6:26, “Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?”  I have sat outside many times and watched a blue bird or a robin come to the buffet of our yard and feed on that which God has provided ( see Job 38:39-41).  From the mighty hands of the Lord comes blessing and provision.   How can we not lift up our voice in grateful praise to God?
