Let's be in prayer with Pastor Lamar Whittemore and the good folks of Harvest Baptist Church in Watertown, South Dakota as they will be kicking off Share-A-Thon 2015 for KPGT April 1-4. KPGT is a ministry of Harvest Baptist Church. It is owned and operated by the church and is a by-faith ministry dedicated to “Proclaiming God’s Truth” to the sole glory of the Lord. Our goal is to present the Gospel message to the lost and encourage the saints of God in their daily walk with the Lord. Our nation must be reached with the Gospel. What a great tool that God has provided in this part of our nation through KPGT. I want to encourage you to go to www.thetruthfm.com or search KPGT on the TuneIn App. and listen. My wife and I have been a part of this work through our home church. If you have a heart for missions and you feel led to be a part of this powerful work their #605-753-8910- April 1-4. Thanks for visiting & thanks for praying, Bro. Tracy | |

"My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me." Psalm 63:8 I remember reading our Scripture shortly after I was saved, and it was like someone throwing gasoline on a fire. It warmed my soul, and ignited a blaze in my very being. It set off a desire that I believe was sent from heaven. I wanted what it was that David was speaking about in regard to the picture he painted with his Holy Ghost led words. I wanted my soul in that same place, position and posture- following hard after God. We have many choices in this world that we live in when it comes to where we will place the main focus of our desires. The young and old alike must choose wisely. One's life will have purpose; one's life will know true passion and one’s life will prove in the end to be the best life one could ever live, when they follow after God in such a manner. We have the gift of time. What will you do? How will you live? What choices will you make? Where will you place God at in your life? Today is the day. Now is the time to start to come after God in such a sold out manner. You will not be disappointed. Be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18) Draw deep from the well of God’s Word (Psalm 119:130) Get into the prayer closet (I Thessalonians 5:17). Make a decision that will impact your life in a way that will draw you closer to the Lord. It will be a decision one will never forget. Come up close! Let's pray for these request for Missionary to Croatia Sam Ward.
1. Wisdom in working with the Gypsy people so the work in Kuršanec can flourish. 2. Continued spiritual growth in our church members. 3. The Bible translation project to move forward as quickly as possible. 4. The ability to master this language. 5. I need to obtain a permanent visa this year. I truly believe - Prayers from around the world will make a difference around the world. Let's pray! “The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied.”
Proverbs 14:14 Charles Spurgeon wrote, “Men are affected by the course which they pursue; for good or bad, their own conduct comes home to them. The backslider and the good man are very different, but in each of them the same rule is exemplified- they are both filled by the result of their lives.” The choices that we make will bring to fruition the road we will travel. It is and always will be about the choices that we make. I believe the most miserable man or woman on earth is those who are born again but are living far from God and deeply in the things of this world. The world and its ways are both enticing and inviting but in the end, the world promises much but has no real return to speak of. Sin is a lot like quicksand, the more active one is in it the further they will sink. The backslider is filled with his own ways and desires, which are not the Lord’s ways and are far from what the Lord desires for him or her and therein lays the source of the very real problem. The Bible says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new” (II Corinthians 5:17). At the very moment that one is saved they are under new management. The Holy Spirit takes up residence within the believer. What a wonderful promise and provision He is from the Heavenly Father. The Lord Jesus says in John 7:38-39 “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) The Holy Spirit has been indeed sent. Christ Jesus was glorified in His redeeming death and burial and His glorious resurrection. He has ascended to the right hand side of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2.) The saved are a new creation indeed and are the temple of God. The believer will not know peace while grieving the Holy Spirit with their back-slidden choices. The one who hungers for the things of God will be satisfied by the things of God. The Word of God is heavenly nourishment for this earthly journey that the Christian is on. Satisfaction in the here and now will be plentiful as we feed on God’s Word and as we desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit. True satisfaction will be found in a deep abiding desire to fellowship with the Lord. We must make it a want and a desire to do so. What we sow is what will grow. What table have you been eating off of? Are you being nourished by that which is of heaven or are you taking in the empty calories of the world’s junk food? If you have back-slidden away from Christ come back to Him. There is no fellowship in this world that compares to the fellowship that the believer can have with Christ Jesus. The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee. Psalm 145:9-10 The Bible teaches us that God inhabits the praise of His people (Psalm 22:3). The one who we praise will inhabit the praise we give them because they will be the very source of our praise. We are quick to tell others when someone has been helpful or handy in a time of need or distress. The perfect stranger who stops along the road side to assist with a flat tire will be the topic around the dinner table. The neighbor who mows our yard will be mentioned at the break table at work. When we praise the people and the actions they took, we reveal the wonderful things that they did for us and the blessing that they were to us. So much more should it be towards the God of the Universes. Consider the goodness, dear Christian, that God has poured out upon you. Make a list and praise His name! The tender mercies of the Lord reveal His caring touch in the midst of a fallen and sin filled world. My wife and I live far enough out of town that on a clear night Gods power is on full display. We have sat outside and looked to the sky in amazement at the stars. It’s as if someone has turned on a switch and filled the sky with such a sight. Someone has; it is the power of God’s creation. We should share and speak to others about such things. When we season our conversation with praises of God, we will reveal to those around us the power of God and this will give us an open window to share the Lord Jesus with the lost. “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.” Philippians 4:4 We cannot allow our ever changing circumstances to define us. When one looks at heavenly things from a worldly view we will never know joy. We will find ourselves in a constant state of defeat. While writing this letter to the believers at Philippi the Apostle Paul was in a Roman prison and yet his letter spoke of the joy that is found in the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul was not writing on a subject that he knew nothing about. He was a man who had firsthand experience when it came to pain and suffering for the cause of Christ. Paul had been stoned and left for dead (Acts 13:19-20), beaten and thrown into prison (Acts 16:22-24), shipwrecked and bitten by a deadly viper (Acts 27:1-44, 28:3). God’s word gives us many other accounts of Paul and his many circumstances and situations and yet after all these things he was able to say, “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.” Rejoice as you make your way to church this morning. You have an opportunity today to either bring glory to God or shame. You have an opportunity today to be a blessing. No matter what your situation might be if you will ask God- He will provide the grace to be a blessing today. They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word." Psalm 119:74 Faith is built by exposure to God's holy Word (Romans 10:17). Not only will our faith increase, but it will act as a bonding compounding in our fellowship with other believers within the body of Christ. When you hope in God's Word and it is lived out in your life the hope that you exhibit will bring joy and encouragement to others. We live in a time where discouragement seems to be at an all-time high in the lives of many Christians. I challenge you to be a light in the lives of your brothers and sisters in Christ this morning and evening at your home church (be a blessing to others as well). Be a blessing! They will be glad when they see you and that will bring glory to God and good to those around you. “And there went out a champion out of the camp of Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.” I Samuel 17:4 The Philistines had a champion, but God’s man David would be the conqueror of the Philistine’s champion. The King of kings had His hand upon His man. The very heart and soul of the wonderful account of David’s victory over the giant Goliath is the faith David had in God to win the victory. Those in the camp of Israel didn’t believe in David and those in the camp of the Philistines certainly didn’t believe that the shepherd boy had a chance with a sling and five stones. You are going to find yourself in situations when even your brothers and sisters in Christ just won’t get it when the God of heaven calls you to do something beyond your strength. Mark it down, there will be doubters. The enemy will be sure to show himself and he will whisper doubt in your ear. Stand tall and strong in the power of God’s might. Never allow the lack of faith of another to dilute your trust in God and what He has called you to do. Victory will be sweet and God will get all the glory and praise. Remember, the faith you exhibit will be a testimony and a stepping stone for those who will be coming up behind you whose calling might be questioned. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:4-5 Will you pray for these Preachers, Pastors and Missionaries I have listed? They represent churches and ministries all across our dear nation as well as other nations. With a fervency in your heart and a fire in your spiritual belly-Will you cry out and call out to The Living God on the behalf of these men and those whom they will stand before as they preach the word of God? With a brokenness and a burning that is of the Holy Ghost will you pray for souls to be saved? Hell is real and our time is short. The Bible says,"For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10). As Jesus Christ is preached from the lips of these preachers let's pray that those words will open eyes and penetrate cold and hardened hearts. Let's Pray! History does not lie. Our Nation’s first President, George Washington, is a powerful example of a founding father of this nation who spoke openly of any nation and its peoples need to acknowledge and rely upon the one true God if that nation desired to prosper. In his book, "One Nation Under God", author Dr. David C. Gibbs writes, “George Washington was chosen unanimously as President-the only man ever to occupy the office who can make that claim. In his first Inaugural Address, President Washington referred often to God. He exhorted the citizens of the new nation to continue in their reliance on God in order to ensure their liberties because, he said, "the propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained." President Washington was stating a glorious fact within his timeless words. A nation cannot expect to know the blessings of God if they do not follow the Law and precepts of God. It does not matter how big of an eraser one wields when they attempt to revise and thus change historical facts. The evidence of our nation's Christian foundation and heritage is far greater than the evil intentions of the revisionist. If the adults or children of our nation would have a desire to learn the facts of our nation’s Christian heritage, they need only to energize that desire and look beyond the status-quo and investigate the facts for themselves. They would come to the conclusion that is etched in the very fabric of our nation's history and carved in stone in the many monuments found in our nation’s capital- A Christian foundation and a Christian heritage indeed. Will you pray for America? Will you pray for our leaders? Will you ask God to have mercy on us as a nation? Let’s come one day at a time with one prayer at a time. Let’s fight the battle from our knees and let us go in God’s strength and might to the small towns, the big cities and every place in between. |
