If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4
I am thoroughly convinced the reason for so many long faced and defeated Christians is that they don't partake in one of the most simplest and yet powerful things- READING THEIR BIBLE! Peace seem to be a mystery to so many who are born again. Power in their day to day lives is sparingly a way of life. Joy is something they notice in others, but it is a place they rarely know. Hope seems to be something that others have, but it is a stranger to their lives. The Bible says, "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple" (Psalm 119:130.) The word of God must enter in before it can minister to us! God's word reveals who we are now in Christ Jesus and it brings to light the blessed benefits we have in and through our Saviour. It teaches us what we have in the here and now and what awaits us in the sweet bye and bye. Peace, Power, Joy and Hope are real today and heaven is a place we will one day call our home.
From time to time I am going to post "The Bible Says" as a reminder to the redeemed what God's Word teaches and tells us. I pray it will bring glory to God and bless many. I pray that our verses today opens your eyes and speaks to your heart as the Spirit of truth illuminates a wonderful and power packed truth.
