I was blessed to be able to recently sit down with Missionary Doug Baker and have him share with me how God had placed a burden and call upon he and his wife Mrs. Robin. In 2008, with that call and burden upon their lives they left their homeland of the south and moved their family to Gillette, WY.
Through the prayers of God's people, and the laboring of their family, God has delivered the product of their vision. "A Warehouse for Missionaries."
This ministry is planted in the heart of the greater Northwestern United States, where the present religions and extreme conditions often prevail over the Missionary. They often deal with, deep isolation, extreme weather, high food costs and depleted Ministry supplies. These all put high demands on the family who serves in this region.
Bro. Doug told me, "The building is 50x50" and that "God has provided in many ways for the many needs of the Missionaries." He shared that they have provided, "Windows, doors, building supplies, heat pumps as well as food and household goods." The real blessing is that it is at no cost to the Missionary. God is enabling them to provide supplies, scripture and service in places where much of these are needed for the dear people on the field. Not only are physical needs being met but God has called the Baker's to reach the people of the west through the presentation of the Gospel. Bro. Doug provides pulpit supply in churches (many of which have no pastor), through retirement home services and door to door visitation.
It fires me up to see God doing such a mighty work through such humble and willing vessels as the Baker's.
