1 Samuel 12:19,23
What I want us to grab a hold of out of our verses is the response of Samuel when the people asked him to pray for them. Often time we may have someone who asks us to pray and we say, "Yes I will pray for you." Do we pray or do we just flippantly give a response? I like to keep an index card with me so that when someone asks me to pray I can write down the request and the name if needed. The blessing of the days that we live in has given us technology that can be used for God's glory and for the good of many others. We can record on our phones a prayer request as well.
Samuel was a man who took prayer serious. I pray that our desire and fire to pray for others will match that of Samuel- Read his words again, "Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you."
We have an opportunity everyday to enter into the wonderful ministry of prayer. The question is, will we redeem the time the time that God has given us upon the battle field of prayer? The opportunity awaits you- What will you do with it?
