By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:5-6
That which we desire will dictate where we walk and who we walk with- It comes down to the choices and decisions we make. What a treasured testimony we have of Enoch- He walked with God and he pleased God.
When you walk with God:
1. You will experience Peace in your life- “Great peace have they which love thy law; and nothing shall offend them” (Psalm 119:165). When you walk with God you will also be walking within the Word of God because the two go together! Jesus said, “If ye love me keep my commandments.”(John 14:15). When you walk with God you will have a desire and you will have a fire within you to keep His commandments!
2. You will experience Power in your life- Paul wrote,” I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”(Philippians 4:13). Christ Jesus is our strength- Christ is our stability- Christ Jesus is ours. When you walk with God you will be walking in the Spirit and not fulfilling the lust of the flesh (See Galatians 5:16) and the fruit of such a life will be the fruit of the Spirit! Jesus said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” (John 15:5). What is the fruit of walking with God? Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, temperance (See Galatians 5:22-23)- That is power!
3. You will experience the blessing of Pleasing God- That will be life at its best!
A. Your testimony will bring glory to God! In the middle of a dark world God will be glorified as you walk with God and don’t run with and after the things of this world- Remember, "Enoch walked with God."
B. Your testimony will be a marker for all to see! Psalm 1:1-2 says, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” Where you stand! Where you sit! What you say! How you live will be known!
C. Your testimony will be a stepping stone! A stepping stone for those who are coming up behind you! Paul wrote, “Continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of knowing of whom thou hast learned them” (2 Timothy 3:14). There is truly something to be said about staying faithful to the One who is so faithful to us.
The testimony of Enoch still speaks loudly today! God was pleased! O, that we can say the same.
