John 6:44
It is not through a series of deductions or that we measure and weigh out the truths of the Bible on a scale and conclude on our own that we need to be saved. When Adam sinned in the garden, mankind was subsequently separated from God and could not, by our own means, make or find our way back to God. In Romans 3:9, the Bible teaches us this truth, “All under sin.” We were a slave to sin; the sinner is subjugated to sin. It is not that they just sin but that they sin and enjoy it. Left to his or her self, the sinner would never come to God. The revelation of God in the heart of man is placed in the heart of man by God. The Father draws sinners to Him.
God draws the lost through His Word. The Word of God pierces the heart of man (Hebrews 4:12). I can testify to this fact. I remember being in a Church service as an unsaved man and the man behind the pulpit began to preach the Word of God. I began to sweat and then I began to squirm in my seat, this led to a seething within me. As God’s man preached God’s Word, it pierced me straight thru my heart. I choose to leave that service an arrogant unsaved fool but the Word of God and the Holy Spirit spoke to me in a powerful way. God was drawing me.
Thank God that He draws us. Think of the depth and width of God’s grace, mercy and love as He comes to us desiring that we would be saved. He has made salvation possible through the Lord Jesus Christ. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:14).
Somewhere at this very moment the Father is drawing someone to Him!
