“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:13
Tomorrow morning is another opportunity for souls to be saved. It doesn’t matter if you attend a church of ten or one thousand or whatever your attendance might be the opportunity is the same when the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is preached. Perhaps a neighbor, co-worker, family member or friend has been invited. Maybe a complete stranger will come through the church door. My friend that should excite us and encourage us to pray! Some will come on a bus or a church van or maybe you will pick someone up.
I want us to consider the word whosoever. Take time to meditate on the wonderful thought and truth of the whosoever of the Bible. The skin color or social background of a person is not taken in account because God says, “Whosoever.” The amount of money that one makes or does not make is not considered because God says, “Whosoever.” Whether one has a PhD or a GED or anything in between the two does not matter, God says, “Whosoever.” One could be as fit as an Olympic athlete or strong as Samson or others could be weak in strength or bed ridden it does not matter God says, “Whosoever.” The sins of some might be great, horrific and painful (Remember, “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23) yet God says, “Whosoever.” There are those who may be in a prison or a jail and God says, “Whosoever.”
The word of God says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness: but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). I Timothy 2:4 teaches Gods will for mankind, “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” We know that not everyone will be saved. It will not be that they couldn’t be saved, but that many will reject the offer of salvation that is made possible through the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross at Calvary. The offer is made to whosoever. Thank God for that.
