As believers we will endure tough times and long days. There will be days when we will know the pains of living in a fallen world. I attended the funeral of a dear friends mother yesterday morning. There was singing, there was preaching and there was a celebration of a life lived. The celebration was made possible by the fact that my friends mother was saved. Yes there was sadness and tears because of the passing of a wife, a mother and a grandmother. The Pastor reminded us, "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope" (I Thessalonians 4:13.)
Sitting in the church yesterday I began to reflect on my own salvation. Tears of gratitude and joy swept across me and I was thankful that I wasn't sitting too close to anyone. I am not nor will I ever be the same man since that night nearly twelve years ago when I was saved. I am amazed even at this very moment that I am saved. I love the Lord Jesus- I love Him. I praise His matchless name!
