I want to encourage you, as we draw closer to the day that we have chosen to celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, to prepare for this time of the year when many folks choose to attend church. Look at it as a wonderful opportunity to witness to many and invite them to the church service on this special day. Everything in our culture has become so commercialized and secularized that the true meaning of celebrating the Resurrection has gotten lost in a basket full of candy, an egg and a rabbit. The Lord Jesus has been replaced in society by such things.
I have three things I would like to lay on your heart for this time of the year:
I. Prayers- Be in prayer for family members, friends and co-workers. We need to soak and saturate them in prayer. If they aren't saved, be fervent and continual in your prayers for their salvation.
II. Preparation-With prayers continually going up, we also need to be sure to be inviting these folks to the Resurrection Sunday Services. Some churches have special Gospel tracts or flyers that they give out as a way to reach out to those in their communities. Take advantage of these and give them out liberally. If your church does not offer these, if you have a computer you could very easily print your own.
III. Possibilities- The Bible says, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (II Peter 3:9.) The possibility is that your family members, friends, co-workers and anyone else you pray for and invite, will be saved! The possibilities are salvation and much seed being planted.
Go out! Get out! Give out! The possibilities are powerful in Christ Jesus.
