Isaiah 41:10
I believe there will always be certain seasons in our lives where God will use particular scriptures to strengthen us, encourage us and teach us about Him as well as a lesson that we are to learn from such times. There is power in the Word. When God saved me, I didn’t have a clue about who He was. I knew that night at my home that I was dead in my trespasses and sins and that I could not save myself. I didn’t grow up in church. And so I was ignorant when it came to God.
Isaiah 41:10 will always have a special place in my heart. As a new believer, God put a real desire for His word in my heart. As I read God’s Word, He began to teach me who He was. I would drop anchor in this wonderful verse and slowly take in each word and allow them to roll over and over in my mind. As I did this, my heart would nearly explode with joy and laughter. I lived most of my life, before I was saved, feeling hopeless. But when I read this, there was so much more than hope that filled my very soul it was a sustaining stability that God conveyed to me- He was with me. The Bible says, “For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven” (Psalm 119:89). God’s word stands firm in heaven while strengthening His children on earth. I have continued to keep my anchor in the word of God.
My friend, we trust the one we love and love the one we trust. Come up close to these Words in whatever season you find yourself in at this very moment. Being saved is the best life 24-7! It is the best life ever!
