“O God, thou art my God: early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is”
Psalm 63:1
I want to challenge you. I want you to be honest with yourself. Does our verse reflect your desire and thirst for God? David, the author of this Psalm, has been one who I have studied quite often in my nearly fourteen years as a Christian. His fire and desire for the Lord challenges me. David was not a mere Sunday morning church goer. He was sold out to his Lord God seven days a week. Circumstances did not dictate his desire for the Lord.
Revival in each individual believer will be the direct effect of the choices each individual believer makes in their lives. Our choice to have more and more of God will never light the torch of revival in our hearts if we are simply doing it to gain the approval of a spouse, a friend or to impress ones parents or Pastor. It must be authentic and real for it to truly have an effect in our lives and bless the lives of those around us.
What is it that sits on the throne of your heart and life at this very moment? What is it that consumes and keeps you from a deep, rich and abiding relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ? Only you can answer these questions and I pray that you would seek the Lords face in a mighty way and allow the Holy Spirit to do a revealing work in your heart this very moment. I pray that it would be our desire to echo the words of David, “My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee.”
I truly believe Revival can be a Reality in the life of each believer in 2016!
