Do we derive more joy from the secular world and the sin that it peddles or do we draw and glean more joy and life from the Saviour and the Scriptures. I have to wonder if many of the redeemed struggle continually with putting this world down and continuing in the things of God. Many Christians seem to be rummaging through the trash bin of this world when Almighty God has a bountiful table that is full of goodness and that which is satisfying. The Bible says, “O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him” (Psalm 34:8). Oh to have a sweeping reviving in the hearts and lives of God’s people. A revival that would take a hold of God’s people and that would in turn shake the very being of a lost and hurting world.
