“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:12
In our verse today are three words I want us to grab a hold of:
I.Quick- this word teaches us that the word of God is alive.
II.Powerful-this tells us that God’s word is active or energizing.
III. discerner- this has the meaning to divide or separate; to sift out evidence.
I can’t think of a better way to start our day than with our eyes, hearts and minds given over to God and His Word. I know that many say, “It is not how we start, but how we finish that counts.” I want to remind you that it is the first step we take that begins the race that we run. Our lives will be centered, settled and set in the right direction when we begin each day with God and His Word. Your footing will be firm and your faith will be strengthened when you meditate, delight in and forget not the Word of God and the God of the Word.
