Psalm 119:140
When I was growing up, I spent a lot of time with my Grandpa. His brother owned quite a few acres of land that he farmed. A country road ran right next to my Great-uncles farm land and off that road was a spring where one could get a cold drink of water. One needed only to dip their cup and drink. Now- spiritually speaking I am asking you dear Christian to dip your cup down into our scripture and drink from the mighty well of God’s Word.
Proverbs 19:23a says, “The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied.” The fear of the Lord will bring satisfaction, peace and the blessed benefits that are spoken of in our verses. Allow your eyes to be your cup and fill them slowly with each verse. Now empty that cup into your heart and allow each word to run to the very depths of your being. Psalm 119:140 says, “Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.” Make the decision to find time, to draw from the deep well of God’s Word!
Those of you who come to this site may wonder why I am constantly encouraging you to come to the Word. Perhaps it seems a bit repetitious. We are living in a time when God’s Word is not being preached or taught. The preaching of God’s Word is being replaced with dinners, concerts and sing-alongs. As a nation we have put it out of sight and thus away from our hearts and our lives. I want to put to use the freedom that we have in this country to share and give the Word of God with every opportunity that I am given. With that said, come and drink deep from God’s Word.
