Psalm 1:1
Who will you follow or better yet what will you follow? In this world of quick schemes that promise much, but in due time, will often lead the believer away from a Christ centered life we must be sober and on guard. Our verse today is far better than any self-help book or cheap advice that is often given out by the newspaper or internet. I am amazed at how many watch or read and take the advice from a well-known personality instead of going to the tried and true source of truth and wisdom-The Word of God!
We must ask ourselves, "Who is it that I am walking with and in doing so where will it lead me?" We also must consider who we are standing with and do we stand for the things that they stand for? Our text speaks of not standing in the way of sinners, yet we must remember that we are to be a light in this dark and lost world, so we don’t want to sequester ourselves away from the world. We must not take ourselves out of the world, but we should be Christ like so we can share the wonderful Gospel to the world. Jesus didn’t walk the path of sin in hope that a soul would be saved.
Dear Christian, where you walk, where you stand and where you sit will have a mighty impact on the body of Christ. You will either bring glory to God or shame. Our choices not only affect us, but those who are close to us and those who God brings in to our lives. Choose wisely this day who you will follow.
