Psalm 145:3-4
There should be a depth, a width and a height to our praise. Praising the Lord should be as natural as breathing. It should flow and pool up nonstop. On a piece of property that my wife and I own we keep four horses and their water supply comes from a spring. We have seen this spring flow in the middle of a dry, hot summer. We have had a long tough winter this year. We have witnessed a near record snow amount and bone chilling cold that has lasted for days on end and yet we recently walked the property after consecutive days of below zero temperatures and found the spring flowing and pooling up. Our praise should match or exceed the flow of that spring on our property. I pray that I never allow the coldness or dryness of life to dictate my praise of the Lord.
My friend, we must continue to praise God and declare His mighty acts to the next generation. Husbands and wives must declare Gods mighty acts to their children. Grandparents must declare Gods goodness and faithfulness to their grandchildren. Christians should tell neighbors, co-workers and friends of the power of God working in their lives and in doing so God will be glorified and the next generation will be reminded of God and all that He has done.
My wife and I had prayed that the spring would not be frozen over. As we walked our property each step was in anticipation of God's faithfulness and power. It was bitter cold that day as the wind swept across the open field that led to the woods and then there it was before us, the water was flowing! Glory to God! I will always remember that day- on a frozen, snow covered piece of land in Indiana a husband and wife dropped to their knees and praised the Lord for His goodness and faithfulness- for such a mighty act.
