God’s Law and instructions are not meant to take life but to give life; the best life. God’s Word enriches, enlightens, satisfies, brings joy, gives warning and ignites conviction in the heart of the sinner. The Bible provides all these and so much more. Other books fade and are forgotten, but God’s Word remains. President Lincoln hit the nail on the head with his words so many years ago. The Bible is a gift and if I may add a treasure chest. The Bible says, “I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil” (Psalm 119:162.) Won’t you come to the Word of God this morning?
