Let's take the time to pray!
We have a prayer request from Youth director Rob Deverell from Friendship Baptist Church in Ewa, Hawaii- "Please pray for our church. We are needing one more signature from the city so we can build our new building."
Let's take the time to pray!

Thanks to those who prayed for me today. The Lord met with us in a mighty way at Weston Baptist Church! The saints were stirred and helped. I sang a special and I had a real freedom as I preached. I can always tell when many are praying for me. I am looking forward to preaching at the 1st Annual Western Kentucky Youth Rally this coming Saturday! I would appreciate your prayers. Thanks for visiting and thanks for praying, Bro. Tracy Will you take the time to pray for these requests? I. Bro. Duey Whitfield's dad will be having a CT scan on the 20th. Possibly bladder cancer. II. Bro. Virgil Bland has a burden for the lost souls in his family. III. Revival in our home town Spencer. IV. Evangelist Harlan Barnett as he travels the revival road. I am excited to announce the 1st annual Western Kentucky Youth Rally set for Saturday March 14th. The rally is being hosted by Chasing Revival Ministries the ministry of Evangelist Cody Williams. I recently spoke to Brother Cody and he shared with me that his burden for young people was brought about by a trend he was noticing and that trend was many of our youth are not being faithful to God. I could hear over the phone that this young Evangelist has a burden for young people to be under old time preaching and he truly believes that this will, "Make an eternal dent in the hearts of the youth." as the word of God is preached and the Holy Spirit ministers to those hearts. Brother Williams was emphatic as he explained that he is, "Determined to show that old time preaching still works no matter what the age of the person is." His heart and desire for the youth of our nation to have a deep and abiding relationship with the Lord is very real.
Let's soak and saturate this rally in prayer! Let's pray that the Holy Spirit does a mighty work in the hearts of many. Let's pray that souls will be saved and lives will be changed. Let's pray for God's unction and power upon the preaching and the singing. Cody- 1-270-256-9504 Thou art my hiding place place and my shield: I hope in thy word. Psalm 119:114 I want us to give our hearts and minds over to this thought, "I hope in thy word." Allow those words to plunge deep into your heart. Allow those words freedom to be rooted in your mind. These aren't just any words. They are not the words of a philosopher or guru. They do not originate from the mind of some so called great thinker. They are the words of Almighty God. There is so many places that so many people have rested their hope. They have rested their hope in a person only to be disappointed. They have rested their hope in success only to feel empty and hungry for more and never being satisfied. They have rested their hope in material items only to learn that the newness wears off. Hope that is built upon or derived from the things of this world will leave the recipient feeling hopeless. That is a guarantee. Hope that is built upon or derived from the things of this world will leave the recipient feeling hopeless. That is a guarantee. God’s Word thus His promises do not waver or wilt under the assault or weight of circumstances. The cream of His truth rises to the top. If anything the word sustains us that much more in any and every situation or scenario. The power is derived from the one who is promising. We insult and assault God’s character when we question God's promises. In Psalm 57:1 we read these words from David, "For my soul trusteth in thee." I began to meditate upon the word trust. I found this definition of trust: assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone. Than I thought well what if that some one is God? So I broke down the definition word by word and applied each attribute to God and what it was that God revealed from His word about Him self. This is by no means exhaustive. I. Character- "The Lord is righteous in all his ways, holy in all his works." Psalm 145:17 II. Ability- God asked these questions of Job, "Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who hath given understanding to the heart? Job 38:36 III. Strength- "He is wise in heart and mighty in strength." Job 9:4 IV. Truth- "A God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he." Deuteronomy 32:4 Knowing that all scripture is given by inspiration of God how can we not hope in His Word and trust Him. I want you to read these words again. God’s Word thus His promises do not waver or wilt under the assault or weight of circumstances. The cream of His truth rises to the top. If anything the word sustains us that much more in any and every situation or scenario. The power is derived from the one who is promising. We insult and assault God’s character when we question God's promises. It is time to turn from doubt and return to the path of hope that has been paved by the Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ and His Glorious Word.
And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. Psalm 9:10
Reconciliation = Relationship! We can place our trust in the Lord knowing the powerful promise that He will never forsake us. The more we seek Him the closer we will grow to Him. It is all based on the relationship that we have through our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ. When we remind ourselves of our reconciliation and redemption our strength will be rekindled because of God's precious promises. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. Genesis 19:26 Lot was in Sodom and Sodom was in Lot. Genesis 13:12 teaches us that, “Lot pitched his tent toward Sodom.” Lot was fully aware of the kind of men who lived in Sodom. The Bible says, “But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly” (Genesis 13:13). This was the first step in the wrong direction because Lot eventually would have a home in Sodom (see Genesis 19:1-3). Sin is a lot like smoke the more time you spend in it the more you will begin to smell like it. Lots wife became so enamored with the world that she had to take a look back at that which consumed her and she turned into a pillar of salt (They were warned not to look back; God was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah and they were to flee). There is a great lesson we can learn from Lot and his wife. Don’t miss this- they became so earthly bound they were no heavenly good! H.A. Ironside wrote, “I remember one night in Stockton Cali… I was preaching about the coming of Jesus. As I was in prayer, I was conscious of a woman getting up and going out, for in those days the skirts would swish whenever a lady walked. It seemed to me that this lady must have gone in a hurry. When I finished my prayer and went to greet the friends at the door, I found a woman pacing back and forth in the lobby. The moment I came, she said to me, “How would you dare to pray like that- “Come Lord Jesus?” I don’t want him to come. It would break in on all my plans. How dare you!” I said, “My dear young woman, Jesus is coming whether you like it or not.” Oh, if you know Him and love Him, surely your heart says, “Come, Lord Jesus!” What is it that you have allowed to consume you? Has an earthly thing become a stumbling block that has sapped you of your heavenly perspective? Where have you pitched your tent? Where have you laid down your roots? Are your eyes so consumed with this world that your heart has grown cold? Don’t be as a pillar of salt; be a pilgrim who’s just passing through. "For who hath despised the day of small things?" Zechariah 4:10a Be all that God would have you to be in the place he has planted you. Don't allow your obscurity to discourage you God knows all about you. My friend, never allow the doubt of another to define or diminish your faith in what the Lord has called you to do! Trust the Lord and allow Him to work. Big or small is not to be considered be faithful where it God has you and in that which He is having you to do. There are no big shots or little shoots just servants. Flourish where you are planted keeping your eyes upon the Lord.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:16-18
It saves souls! It changes lives! It changes sinners into saints! It has turned cities upside down! It has saved entire families! It is hope! It brings joy! It gives life! It was heaven sent! It declares the love of God! It cries out to whosoever! It never grows old! From a rugged cross to a borrowed grave to an empty tomb- Jesus has made the way! It is the enemy of the devil! It is hated by the devil! It crushes the argument for earning ones salvation! It is what is most needed today! It is wrapped in love, full of grace, and reveals the mercy of God! It is not to be watered down! It is some of the sweetest words that I have ever heard! It blesses my soul and makes me want to shout! It is just as powerful today as it was when Jesus himself spoke it to Nicodemus! It is to be preached, proclaimed and presented! It is to be shared and not hidden! It has gripped hearts and saved souls! It is the Word of God to a lost, hell bound and hurting world! |
